I have done a few crawfish boil invitations, which is how Mary found me on Etsy. She had me design a custom invitation that had the same feel of this design, but was more focused on the fact that it was her son's first birthday. The invitation led to coordinating stickers and stationery, which came together perfectly. A crawfish boil for a first birthday?! What a cool kid. ;)
Custom Design: Princess Ballerina Children's Birthday Party Invitations
I mentioned my sort-of struggle designing for children's themed parties, and I am certainly getting practice these days, because I have been doing a lot of them!
This one is for little Nancy Charline, who I've been doing invitations for since her first birthday. Her mom, Sherry, found me back in the day and has been coming back every year. Now, she is four and I got to do a custom 'Fairy Princess Ballerina' themed invitation for her day. I can tell that little NC is helping determine the themes and ideas more this year and I love that Sherry, gives me her daughter's input, as well as her own.
It's such an honor to be a part of little celebrations like this. My business has certainly changed in the past 4 years. It's gone from part-time hobby to full time business and that means things change. Paper, printing and design quality have all been on the upswing, which comes with higher prices, naturally. It's awesome to have clients that understand the transition and appreciate the quality and design that I offer. So grateful!
Custom Design: Little Man First Birthday Invitations
Remember Ryder from his birth announcement? Well, this cutie turned one last summer and his mom wanted to do a 'Little Man' themed photo invitation for the party. I don't like to do anything that competes too much with the photo, so I used a tiny bow-tie and mustache within the typography. For the backer, I pulled colors from Ryder's outfit and designed a plaid backer to coordinate. Love how they turned out!
Custom Design: Bounce House Children's Gender Neutral Birthday Invitations
When it comes to children's party invitations, I try to stay true to my style. I don't do a lot of illustrations, so while I know that's what a lot of party invitations have, I like to give these themed parties my own take on them. As all the little babies I know become little kids, I am doing more and more. It's always a challenge, but am enjoying how they are turning out.
Now, a few years ago, I didn't know that they have party venues with bounce houses, but at this party, I was going down the slides with the kiddos. I mean, with this adorable little guy, says 'again! again!', well, you go again!
Parker's 1st Birthday Photo Party Invitations
After spending the long weekend kissing the chubby cheeks of this sweet boy, I thought I should get around to sharing his party invitations before he gets any older. Because, it seems like he is, and fast.
You might remember Parker from his birth announcements. He is my best friend, Carrie's sweet son and being that I am his personal stationer, I got to create some sweet first birthday party invitations for his big day. Carrie didn't have any big ideas for a theme, so we made Parker (and his extreme cuteness) the theme of the party. We used photos on the invitation and Carrie displayed photos of his first year throughout the party decor.
I like photo invitations, but I love that we used several photos to document how he has changed instead of just one. It's especially nice for those who don't live near him and/or can't make the party, they get to see how Parker has grown and changed throughout the year. Isn't he the cutest!?
I also like this bright color combination. This Chartreuse green prints so vibrant and I love how perfect it feels paired with the teal blue/green.
