I am currently working on the wedding invitation of my good friend and co-worker, Kristen, so I thought I'd share their Save the Date design on the blog. Kristen and Sean are such a fun couple and their engagement pictures, by Wisner Photography, really captured their fun loving personalities. We had a hard time narrowing down the photo for the Save the Date... but when it came down to it, this photo with the blue wall backdrop seemed to be made for it. I love how they turned out!
Today’s font Friday, is FREE font Friday... because it doesn't get much better than a good free font. In the font world, free fonts are always a little tricky, because not all free fonts are free for commercial use. Often they are only free if you are using it for a personal project. When you download a font, it usually come with an information file that tells you the terms of use. Read it carefully to make sure you can legally use it for its intended purpose.
With that said, there are still TONS of fonts out there that are indeed free for any use, commercial included. A great website for these types of fonts is Font Squirrel, which only features fonts that are 100% free for commercial use, so it takes the guesswork out of it. Browse through and download away!
One of my favorite free fonts is called Conqueror and is really a family of 5 different fonts. Sans, Slab, Didot, Sans, Inline, Carved, and Slab. Each are unique and are really nice looking fonts in my opinion.

This weekend, my husband and I ventured out to Oddfellows, a cute little restaurant that I've been wanting to try for awhile. It is located in the Bishop Arts District (home of another favorite) but it hadn't really caught my eye until I read about it in D Magazine. Not only was the food amazing and very affordable (brunch in Dallas can set you back a pretty penny so this is rare) but their branding was totally appealing to the designer in me. Nerdy, I know, but check out their menu:
For those of you who couldn't are less about the design of the menu, how about what's on the menu? I ordered their French Toast Pudding and it was probably one of the best things I have ever tasted!
They are open for lunch and dinner too, so there is no doubt that we will be back for more. Maybe I'll see you there!
Since I missed Font Friday last week, I thought I’d make up for it with two lovely fonts today: Belinda and Suti.
These two beauties are designed by Mika Melvas, a font foundry in Finland, and they are kind of like 'sister' fonts (though I just made that term up). They are both really similar, but Belinda is a script/cursive font. Both have a fun hand-written feel, but are still clean and modern, which I love. They really complement each other well.
Not only are they cute, but they are affordable too: Belinda is $35 and Suti is $29. You can purchase them here.

2 years ago we became husband and wife and while 2 years in the scheme of 10 years, don't seem like a long time, they are the two best so far. I couldn't imagine a funnier, sweeter more supportive husband. I am so very lucky.Happy Anniversary honey - I love you more every day.
