Spring Picnic Themed 1st Birthday Invitations

The sweet little people who I get to help introduce to the world, turn one almost instantly before my eyes, and it's time for their first birthday invitations! It happens so fast! I am always surprised how quick the first year goes by, but I can only imagine how much faster it seems for the parents. I love getting to be a part of these milestones.

Finley is the daughter of my high school friend, Lindsey, and for her first birthday party, she wanted something for a spring picnic theme.  She mentioned dragonflies and kraft envelopes and this is what I came up with.

Orange and pink is a favorite combination right now. It's so feminine and fun for little girls.

Classic and Elegant Letterpress Birth Announcements

This is so late in coming, as you can see Sloan's first birthday has come and gone, but this birth announcement is classic and timeless and is just as perfect now, as it was over a year ago when I designed it, so I figured, why not go ahead and share it on the blog.

This announcement is sweet and simple. Classic scallops and the scripted lettering only adds to the classic elegance. I love her bright photo too. Something about the soft pink of the ink and Sloan's tiny pink lips - everything about this is just so darn pretty.

Sloan's mommy chose pretty pink envelopes, with dainty polka dot envelope liners and I think they work perfectly with the scalloped design on the announcement.

Meet Marbella: Letterpress Wedding Invitations

I kind of dropped off introducing my wedding invitations, but I want to get back to it because the inspiration boards are just too pretty not to share.

The Marbella Wedding Invitation, from the Fresh Collection, features a subtle ikat pattern with an overlay of modern typography. The tiny bow adds a little whimsy to this modern design.

I can't get enough of this olive green and gray right now, and I love seeing it translated into a wedding. Succulents anyone? Yes, please!

Featured: Viv + Jon's Baby Party Invitations on Oh So Beautiful Paper

I am so excited to share these baby shower invitations, or should I say 'Baby Party' invitations, that were featured on Oh So Beautiful Paper today!

My sweet friend Vivien, who is a designer herself, asked me to design their shower invitations a few months ago, and I was so excited to be a part of the celebration. I love designing for a couples shower - it's kind of a challenge to create something that makes guys want to come - it can't be to 'baby', if you know what I mean.

Designing for designers is a daunting task, but I love the trust that comes with it. No guidelines, just complete confidence that I would do something she loved. I hope I exceeded her expectations! Love you Viv!

Font Friday: Cantoni Script

I don't even want to know the last time I had a Font Friday post. But just because I haven't posted about them, doesn't mean I am not shopping for them. I am always looking for the next must have font.... and Cantoni Script definitely falls into that category.

Cantoni is by one of my favorite font designers and friends, Debi Sementelli. You might know Debi from her first two stunning fonts, Belluccia and Dom Love Mary, and she certainly doesn't disappoint with her latest release. Cantoni is so fun and flourishy (is that a word). It's playful but elegant. Love love love.

There is so much variety in her flourishes, alternate glyphs and numbers. She always wants to know what the designers, who are using her fonts are looking for, and I think variety is the key and she certainly gave us that with this new font.

I did an interview with Debbie for Minted's blog, Julep, and then she came to a Mintie Meetup and let me tell you, she is awesome. She has such an infectious personality and was so encouraging to us as young creative women.
