Font Friday: Cyclone

Happy Font Friday! Today, by request, I bring you Cyclone, by Hoefler & Frere-Jones. Cyclone is striking and bold, and it comes with two extra formats, background and in-line, for easy layering. You can purchase Cyclone here for $50, but with a warning... you will want to buy every font on that site, so proceed with caution!

It's no secret that I love this font. You might recognize it from a few of my designs.... what can I say, I'm a fan!

Font Friday: Ampersands

I love ampersands. I love them all (well - almost all) but there are a few that stand out from the rest and so I thought a top 5 list would be appropriate. If you ask me tomorrow, their rank might change, but these five will likely stay at the top for a long time.  5. Estilo Script - modern and unique.

4. Adobe Caslon Pro (Italics) - classic and elegant.

3. Buttermilk - Jessica Hische. Need I say more?

2. Fling - perfectly elegant. I devoted an entire invitation to this lovely.

1. Perla - it's still a new (to me) font, so the newness factor hasn't worn off yet. But maybe it never will.

Font Friday: Jeeves

Font friends, meet Jeeves. He (or she - Jeeves is a boy name but it's too pretty to be a boy font, right?) is a lovely new font by You Work For Them.

Jeeves comes in light and bold and is kind of a structured calligraphy font. It's very unique. I love it!

Font Friday: Zebramond

I have good news and bad news. The bad news? This lovely font, Zebramond isn't quite finished yet.   The good news? Until it's complete, it's a public beta font to download for FREE! It has upper and lower case characters, but just basic kerning and spacing. Nothing that I can't handle to use this pretty font. Zebramond is by Betatype and you can download it here. Enjoy!

Font Friday: Free for All

Free fonts are not all created equal. Some fonts are free... because, well, they look free. Others, pleasantly surprise you with their free-ness and are pretty awesome. These are all part of the awesome category.

Splendid 66 is a cool typewriter font that will give your designs a fun antique feel.

RNS Camelia is a new favorite. It has tiny little slab serifs that give it a sweet charm.

Learning Curve is a more structured take on a script font. I love how Kerry used it in her Super Swoon blog header. Perfection.

Bebas Neue is one of my go-to fonts when I need a bold display typeface. Watch out for the spacing between the letters, because it can get a little weird. But nothing a little manual adjusting can't handle.
