Custom Design: ABC Baby Shower

ABC baby shower invitations I am digging deeper into the archives with this invitation that I did last year and still love. So much so that it inspired my Alphabet notebook on Minted.

Along with the invitation, I designed cupcake toppers and food signs.

To go with the alphabet theme, each sign said 'S is for' something. Cute and clever.

Custom Design: Oh Boy Baby Shower Invitations

Oh Boy Baby Shower Invitations I had a client that liked these baby shower invitations and coordinating menus so much, she ordered them twice. The first round, the colors were blue, grey and khaki, but this time, it was navy and green.

There was probably a year-ish between the orders and it's always nice when I can look back on a design that I did a long time ago and NOT be horrified. That's not always the case, I've been cleaning up my hard drive and let's just say very few avoided the trash bin!

Custom Design: Baby Sprinkle Invitations

baby sprinkle invitations Have you heard of a baby 'sprinkle' before? I have to say, even with invitations being my business, I just learned of this type of shower a few months ago through my sister. Then, as luck would have it, I designed two in a matter of weeks. Basically, it's a small scale baby shower for baby #2 or #3... a way of celebrating without registering for gifts, etc. Pretty cute.

This particular 'sprinkle' didn't have a theme, and I love designing for those types of parties. No hard guidelines, so the freedom to play around with type. I also enjoyed playing with pink, because it seems like I've been doing so many things for boys lately!

Custom Design: Bow Tie Baby Shower Invitations

I design a lot of invitations for a group of girls, one of which is a friend from high school and has been sweet to always think of me for invitations since the very beginning. I am glad to be involved, because this group throws the sweetest parties. No matter that they are all having babies around the same time and it's showers galore - each one is a cute theme with plenty of details to make each mommy-to-be feel special. bow tie baby shower invitations

This shower was a 'little man' shower and they wanted to incorporate a bow tie. As one who loves them (my husband happens to pull them off quite nicely), I think it's a great theme for a baby boy shower or a baby room.

Since this type of shower isn't uncommon (you can easily google it and come up with so many bow-tie invitations), I always try to put my own spin on it. In this case, I paired my bow tie and button illustrations with a little less traditional layout to keep it fresh and fun!

* The bow tie in the photo is one I got on Etsy for photo styling... the fact that it's such a good match is just a coincidence and one I didn't notice until I took the photos. Gotta love happy accidents.

Sip & See

I think it's time I start sharing some of the designs I've been working on. I have a lot of stuff in queue, so let's get started shall we? This weekend, I co-hosted a 'sip and see' for my sister and her precious son, Anderson, and naturally, I took care of the invitations. Usually, I like to give my sister some input, but decided to just surprise her with the invite in the mail. She's not really a 'theme' person, so I just kept them clean and simple.

I printed these invites on 100% cotton paper and rounded the corners with my trusty new corner rounder, which is officially my favorite new gadget in the studio. I'm rounding the corners on everything!

We had punch and appetizers and of course, yummy cupcakes from Society Bakery, my sister's favorite. I made little cupcake toppers, with 'A's on them and the rest of the girls pitched in with gorgeous flowers and really delicious food.

And let's not forget the guest of honor. Anderson was a little angel. As always.
